Museum of Appalachia TN

Oct 31, 2012 Wed
Today I toured the Museum of Appalachia. They have several homes and barns that were moved to the museum grounds and furnished with the same “homemade” furnishings and tools that would be found in the  19th and early 20th centuries.
In the big red barn building there are many artifacts from that time period. There is also a display of photographs of the people that spent their lives in the Appalachia Mountains. Some of these photographs were taken by my friend Nancy Hoffman’s father.
The walking tour is only .7 miles. It’s a great look into a time and life style gone by.
