Castle Air Museum - Atwater CA

March 6, 2013 Wed
I spent last weekend with the FreeWheelers at The Lakes RV Resort in Chowchilla CA. We had a great time sharing meals and catching up. The band had a rehearsal on Sat. That went well. We are preparing for our next performance at the Jackson outing. Friday I visited the Castle Air Museum in Atwater CA. I walked the entire flight line and paid dearly for it. Ibuprofen kept me walking the next couple of days. Glad I have a Pod Doc appointment tomorrow. Here are images of some, but not all of the planes at the museum.

Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird
The SR71 was built at the top secret Lockheed Martin facility "Skunk Works" in the southern California desert. One flew from Los Angeles to Washington DC in 64 minutes 5 seconds at an average speed of 2,153 mph.
